Summary:We’re all familiar with being told that on a global scale the rural world is going to town. In the developing world, in the Middle East and in much of the Far East and in Latin America, that is undoubtedly true. And throughout the world people are coming together on a vast scale. Travelling on the London Underground and listening to all the many tongues that people are using as they talk on their mobile phones, you could well believe that we have latter-day Towers of Babel in some of our great European cities.
