| Summary: | The article presents a literature review and the actual observation of a clinical case of the coexistence of Wilson’s disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in a child. The literature search was performed on databases Scopus, Web of Science, MedLine, The Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Global Health, and others. The article describes the most common causes of persistent elevation of hepatic transaminases in asymptomatic patients and the algorithm of differential diagnosis in hypertransaminasemia. The spectrum of diseases accompanied by the development of hepatic steatosis is presented, the issues of diagnosis of non-alcoholic liver disease and Wilson’s disease in children are covered. The attention is focused on the difficulties of interpreting clinical data and evaluating the laboratory and instrumental findings in this group of patients. The algorithm of differential diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in children is presented. |
