Description
Summary:The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the whole world. The conventional narrative has focused on developed nations. However, developing nations and conflict zones have also been disproportionately affected. In this article, I want to bring attention to the effect of COVID-19 on conflict zones. I outline the key challenges and some remedial measures which can be taken. Leaders of the world and international organisations like the WHO and the UN need to act rapidly to prevent greater loss of life in the world's conflict zones. Peacekeepers, healthcare workers, aid organisations and local bodies need to work together to ensure that the effects of COVID-19 in conflict zones are mitigated.
