In this sense, this study aims to analyze the role played by the different organizations in the business sector of Imbabura in Ecuador, and its relationship with the community where they operate. The analysis was based on the different areas suggested within the ISO 26000 standards, such as education, culture, job creation, among others. The qualitative-quantitative approach was used, with descriptive scope. The survey and the interview were used as data collection techniques for which the respective instruments were designed and applied to different companies in the sector. The results of the instruments are quantified using neutrosophic statistics, which is useful for the quantitative analysis of citizens’ participation in various activities developed in the community. According to the present study, the participation of the companies within the community is not significant and therefore, it is required to foment the responsibility of them in the social development and integration. Concepts like sustainability should be included in the company strategies, when trust and commitment want to be generated from communities in which companies develop their activities.http://fs.unm.edu/NSS/SociallyResponsibleParticipation.pdf |
