Description
Summary:Gastroschisis and omphalocele are the two of the mostcommon malformations of the anterior abdominal wallthat both of them associated with high morbidity andmortality. Sometimes the diagnosis and the realization ofthe situations by physicians and the parents are difficult.Herein, one omphalocele and one gastroschisis caseswere presented with the two-dimensional and threedimensionalultrasonographic diagnostic features. Thetwo entities and the role of three-dimensionalultrasound in diagnosis and the clinical management ofthe situations are discussed in the view of medicalliterature. The three-dimensional ultrasound helps in thediagnosis and detection of the severity of theomphalocele and the gastroschisis. J Clin Exp Invest2011; 2(1): 106-109
