Summary:This article analyzes the possibilities and difficulties offered by labor judgments as documentary sources for a social history of workers. Emphasis is placed on the interrelationships between work and justice through the conflicts that escalated to the judicial authorities specialized in the regulation of labor relations between 1946 and 1958. In particular, the uses and production conditions of sentences issued by the Labor Sectional Court of Cali, in order to explore the methodological challenges involved in approaching the history of workers, their demands and forms of claim from the perspective of judicial sources.
