Summary: |
The objective of this research is to design a program of psychopedagogical intervention for the development of resilience in onco-pediatric patients. This program developed clown therapy as an alternative to enhance resilience as a psychological capacity. It was implemented in the Oncology Room of the Hospital Infantil Sur in Santiago de Cuba, with a sample of 12 children suffering from different oncological pathologies. Different methods and techniques were used for the psychopedagogical diagnosis that helped in the preparation of the intervention program, among them: the observation, the interview, the Analog Visual Scale of Facial Expression for Pain and the Wagnild-Young scale. The results show that the actions carried out by the therapeutic clowns, with an intention and psychopedagogical orientation, contribute to strengthen the capacity of resilience in oncopediatric patients, demonstrating how this capacity can be taught and stimulated from such an early age.
