Summary:In undergraduate education there is not a plan of education about pain because the medical curriculum considers it as an isolated symptom. Teaching about its management is only done as part of the diseases which produce it. Consequently many medical students and doctors do not feel ready to treat it. In Cuba, starting on the university reform, study plans and programs of all majors, including medicine had a transformation which have been extended till today for a continuous improving of rthe population‘s health. In this way preparing future professionals to treat pain is necessary. This is the reason why as pain has such a deleterious effect for health, the objective of this work is to reflect on the importance of setting teaching strategies its comprehensive treatment.
