Summary: | The purpose of this article is to present the archival collection deposited by the services of the former Departmental Direction of Social and Health Affairs (DDASS) of the Val-d’Oise department. This service exercised missions of control and administrative and financial supervision on health and social institutions. Archives about the hospitals of Pontoise, Argenteuil, Beaumont-sur-Oise, Eaubonne, Montmorency, Gonesse, Magny-en-Vexin and Marines between 1960 and 2005 have been selected for permanent preservation in the Departmental Archives of Val-d’Oise. These records are rich in information about forty years of architectural evolution and organisation of these hospitals, during a period when the department experienced significant population growth and intense urbanisation. This evolution is linked to the implementation of public policy and its reforms, constantly adapting to social changes.
