Description
Summary:The study object of the paper is the proposed teacher valuation expressed by means of career conditions and the initial and final wage of public schools teachers in the state of Rondônia, from 2006 to 2016, in the context of the Fund for the Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and Educational Professionals Valorization (Fundeb) and the Teachers National Minimum Wage (PSPN). The methodology is based on the critical dialectical approach, and the study of documents and bibliographic sources. By studying the Career and Remuneration Plans for Teachers, the text analyzes the evolution of the initial and final wage of teachers working 40 hours per week, their work contract, career and professional training. It is concluded that the teaching career is uninviting. Teachers do not earn according to the PSPN and have lost their buying power regarding the minimum wage, which indicates that Rondônia should make investments towards the teacher’s valuation.
