Summary:This article aims to investigate communication strategies Foot Campaign On Floor also Learning to Read, popular government education project Djalma Maranhão deployed in Natal in the 1960s as the goal of eradicating illiteracy in Natal. For this research comings and goings in public and private archives were necessary, as well as consultations in private and public collections. The campaign took the form and popularity has surpassed barriers, so that at its end, it was the largest educational initiative that has already occurred in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.As communication strategies at the time were relevant to the disclosure of actions and information educational project that marked the history of popular education in the city of Natal and in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
