The text is divided into three chapters. The first looks at the development of the AVNOJ Museum, its function in society, and the museological and methodological context of its activity. In the second chapter I give a short overview of the `fate` of this museum - which was caught up in the storm of the recent war in Bosnia and Herzegovina - and of the first steps that have been made toward rejuvenating the institution.
