Population policy, family planning: Current trends and possible solutions

This paper aims to show the current demographics of the EU member states and Serbia and the measures taken to achieve specific objectives in the field of population reproduction. As most of the EU countries, as well as Serbia, face with low population growth, the pro-birth policy it is characteristically and at the same time recognizing individuals the right of free family planning, which includes the right to decide whether and how many children have, and how much space will be between of birth. This paper analyzes the important acts that directly or indirectly affect the increase in population growth, as well as those solutions that contribute to the realization of the right to family planning. Also, the paper presents a review and the relevant provisions of the Serbian Draft Civil Code, and analyzes their eventual positive or negative impact on the demographic picture of Serbia.
