Summary: | Mobbing is a new phenomenon that has emerged within the workplace and is increasingly spreading. It seems to affect the employee both psychologically (aggression, reduced resistance to stress, irritability, nervousness) and physically (fatigue, weakness, chronic fatigue syndrome and pains in different parts of the body), while serious bullying can even result in depression and suicide cases. There is a question mark if depression is the cause of mobbing or it is the effect, because individuals who experiencing a mental disorder, or have a greater vulnerability to stressful events are more likely to be bullied. |
