Summary:Purpose. The article is devoted to the actual in the conditions of modern reality issue of the status of a Russian woman and her stereotypical image. The subject of analysis is the practice of forming the ideal female image, which existed in the Soviet reality. Methodology. The research is based on the idea of the beauty standard in a particular society. The author characterizes the aesthetic ideal through the category “image”, considering the individual and ideological level of its formation. To disclose the system of connections, the historical-comparative method, analysis and synthesis of the material were used. Results. The author shows historical practices of the female image transformation in the Soviet society, the relations of new images with the stages of the country’s development. The constructed female images visualized ideology and were used as a means of propaganda. It is noted that fashion was an important component of the image. At the same time, the ideologically approved image was evaluated by society and could be subject to adjustment. Practical implications. The results of the research can be used by pedagogical and scientific pedagogical workers, public servants in the field of socio-political design of value-normative base of the Russian society.
