Description
Summary:The behavior of the forward-backward correlation functions and the corresponding correlation coefficients between multiplicities and transverse momenta of particles produced in high energy hadronic interactions is analyzed by analytical and MC calculations in the models with and without string fusion. The string fusion is taking into account in simplified form by introducing the lattice in the transverse plane. The results obtained with two alternative definitions of the forward-backward correlation coefficient are compared. It is shown that the nonlinearity of correlation functions increases with the width of observation windows, leading at small string density to a strong dependence of correlation coefficient value on the definition. The results of the modeling enable qualitatively to explain the experimentally observed features in the behavior of the correlation functions between multiplicities and mean transverse momenta at small and large multiplicities.
