Summary: | Although Ottoman document types have been studied, the documents of the Republican era have not yet been sufficiently studied. Academic studies and university publications of recent years can be seen as promising developments, albeit quite inadequate considering the hundreds of documents in institutions. It is thought that classification of records types will assist users in various fields of study such as administrative law, public administration, and history and in records-information management fields such as archives and electronic records management. In particular, the metadata tag of document type is an important element in electronic records management applications. In this article, records of the Republican period are evaluated. Samples collected in field work done in the 2000s are evaluated in light of the regulations that are the grounds for its being produced.
Records of Republican period are considered modern documents and have been classified according to common features of types. The records are classified using methods of modern diplomatics. Due to its length, this article is divided into twoparts. In this secondpart, “probative records” are discussed. |
