Summary:This article develops an analysis of the existing relationship between the National Identity and the maritime power specifically applied to the case of our Country. By doing so, the author first provides a conceptual vision of the National Identity and its characteristics in the Chilean case; secondly, he establishes the relationships that exist between such an identity and the Maritime Power. Third, he reviews the sea influence in the Chilean history, and identifyes the current maritime interests to establish finally, the existing relationship between the National Identity and the Maritime Power.
