Summary: | At the beginning of the 21st century, Central America is home to a profusion of transport corridor projects that aim to make the Central American isthmus a multimodal platform in the global trade network. The aim of this article is to address the challenges of creating these new transisthmic links. After a brief description of the regional context, three corridor projects are more specifically addressed. Then, the author questions at several scales the territorial impacts and the regional development model underlying these corridors, as well as their inclusion in trade networks at the continental level. |
