Summary:In this paper, mathematical modelling of TDFA for broadened gain spectrum and reduced noise figure has been carried out by keeping all practical parameters in consideration. A model of TDFA has been designed based on simulation after considering all the major parameters like ASE pump and signal power. The present research claims to support 96 DWDM channels across 1479 nm-1555 nm wavelength range, with a peak gain of 26 dB (without ASE) and with a peak gain 24 dB, ASE of 1.5 dBm for optimum fiber length of TDF as 10 m. With this proposed model, the gain of 24 dB and NF of 7 dB has been achieved.
