<p class="p1">This article describes and constructs an argument concerning the social effects of malnutrition, by reviewing reports and articles in the nutritional situation in Colombia and the world, to finally address the nutritional status in Boyacá. The theme is developed considering nutrition as a field in influencing social, cultural, religious, historical, political and economic, that affect populations when there is no adequate scientific and social processes, to ensure access and adequate food resources due to poverty, lack of programs to ensure food security and sovereignty, high unemployment, looking mainly affected children, pregnant women and the elderly, preventing them from developing their full human potential.</p>
