Good pain assessment contributes to the prevention and/or early recognition of pain as well as the effective management of pain.When managing procedural pain in infants, older children and adolescents, not only proven analgesic strategies are important, but also suitable preparatory measures that contribute to reduction in anticipatory and procedural anxiety.
