| Summary: | The purpose of this paper is to provide translators of literature and human sciences with some basic orientation on translation-aid tools. Generally speaking, translators who work with this type of text claim that such tools are of little use to them because they deal with such a wide range of varied, non-repetitive terminology in texts made up predominantly of common language. This claim is true only in part. Translators who work with specific areas of the human sciences will often be faced with repetitive terminology. An additional benefit of translation-aid tools is the fact that they make it possible to explore grammatical constants and to create extremely useful replacement mechanisms for the more or less stereotyped translation of expressions, syntagmas, and suffixes.
