Description
Summary:
This article analyzes online comments posted on a social network with the aim of observing how teachers construct their identities in discourse. The theoretical background and method were based on the dialogic conception of language proposed by the Bakhtin Circle and studies on identity and teacher identity. The research corpus consisted of a Facebook post with an interview and its respective comments, totaling 31 statements of the online comment genre posted on the Facebook group “Professores do Paraná”. The results showed two patterns in the teachers’ comments: (i) statements that re-enunciated the idea of a teacher with poor academic background; (ii) statements that showed resistance, in which there was an axiological refutation/confrontation/detachment from the derogatory identity imposed through discourse.

Keywords: discourse, teacher identity, online comment.
