Summary: |
Islamic literature (al-adab al-islami) as a part of Islamic art is a relatively new phenomenon in arabic world. According to the criteria developed by the Arab theorists al-adab al-islami has its sources in faith, corresponds with life of people, and is related to doctrine of the Islamic religion and Quran. Although its paranetic function, artistic level of literary works should be also very high l. Islamic literature is an independent current and can’t be classified in the conventional way. Leading theorists and writers of Islamic literature were born in Arabic countries but al-adab al-islami is also written in others languages and becomes more and more popular through the activity of International League of Islamic Literature. Development of al-adab al-islami is very dynamic and this current probably will be more and more significant in the coming years.
|
