Description
Summary:Objective: The pathogenesis for hypertension is complicated. Except environmental factors, genetic variations are a large part of reasons account for hypertension. With the rapid development of sequencing techniques, genome wide association study (GWAS) provide an effective method for understanding the complicated genetic backgroundof multifactorial diseases. More than 150 genes associated with essential hypertension were knew today, of which, ATP2B1 is most prominent. Whether in Europe or in East Asia, the association between essential hypertension and ATP2B1 is statistically significant in different people with different genetic background. Here we reviewed the relationship between genetic polymorphisms of ATP2B1 and essential hypertension.
