| Summary: | [Purpose/significance] Through a brief description of the service practical experience of Tongji University's institutional repositories, the service methods of the institutional repositories were discussed. [Method/process] This paper introduced in detail the characteristic service mode and service effect based on the needs of scientific research information management, and summarized the factors that need to be considered in the construction of the institutional repository, including: data quality, usage details, and publicity methods. [Results/conclusion] This paper discussed the future development trend of institutional repositories, such as extended services for new search and citation, and extended services for mobile use.
