Summary:Integrative Review of the Literature whose aim is to identify of the scientific production on the companion’s in the pregnancy labor length, published from 2000 to 2010. The studies were selected through electronic databases like LILACS and BDENF. The descriptors used were patients’ companions and pregnancy labor, in an associated way. The final sample consisted of 14 articles. The years of 2007 and 2010 with the highest number of publications and the scientific literature on the subject is more focused on thecompanion’s profile and perceptions, and about the companion’s presence according to perception of mothers and health professionals. The number of publications on this subject is limited,highlighting the necessity for more research focusing on strategies for inclusion the companion before its relevance to the context of the humanization of pregnancy labor and delivery.
