Summary:The purpose of this article is to present some theoretical-methodological perspectives that we believe are relevant to the substantiation and development of both scientific research in Geography Education as well as curricular proposes and educational policies. The article emphasizes that debates about information needed by teachers, forms of knowledge and information and the relation of teachers with this information are essential to approximate production in these fields of research and public policies to the particularities of the educational culture and processes to which they are directed.
