| Summary: | Methodological research which objective is to prepare a data collection instrument for hospitalized elderly.It was developed in three phases: 1) the development of the instrument; 2) the validation of the instrument contents; 3)clinical testing with elderly. In the first phase, the literature revision and development of the initial version of the instrumentwere accomplished. The second phase was carried out in two stages: 1st) initial version of the instrument to validate thecontents of the items; 2nd) the development of the definitive version of the instrument. In the last phase, the final instrumentwas tested in ten elderly patients. It is expected that the use of this instrument by nurses would result in a better orientationto the older people, their family, their caregivers and the nursing team when they access the affected necessities in orderto minimize the established difficulties. |
