Summary:This study aims to describe methods used and impediment faced by Arabic language teachers at Al-Amiriyah Secondary School, Pondok Pesantren Darussalam, Blokagung, Banyuwangi. To corroborate this study, qualitative method of research and descriptive analysis are applied along with technique of collecting data through interviews and investigation of documentary archives concerning profiles of students, Arabic language teachers, as well as other school’s supporting system. Through this study, it is expected to achieve coherent description of relevant events, activities, and working concepts as well as metods of study used by Arabic language teachers at Al-Amiriyah Secondary School. The conducted research has resulted in some finding such as that in teaching Arabic language the teachers apply several methods oh reading (qira’ah), translation (tarjamah), memorization (Hafdz), composition (insya’), and dictation (imla’). These five methods of Arabic language teaching-learning have been practiced quite well in the school. However, it still needs more improvements and ameliorations as there are some impediments faced by both Arabic language teachers and students, such as the lack of Arabic vocabularies of both the teachers and the students, the absence of the student’s parent participation, and the insufficiency of supporting facilities
