Description
Summary:In this article we propose to analyze the socioespacialization of the subjects that inhabit the banks and islands of the São Francisco River in their middle course, in the state of Minas Gerais. We define our theoretical conceptual contributions of research, taking the identity, territoriality and territorial links delineated by Hall (2005, 2011), Castells (1999, 2002), Almeida (2008, 2008a), Claval (1995, 1999), Saquet (2005), Moley (2005), Heidrich (2009) and Gimenez (1999), indispensable in our reflections. As a methodology we opted for qualitative geographic research supported by authors such as Triviños (1987), Godoy (1995; 1995a) and Brandão (2006). Thus, in the research we had a double look, one more focused on the historical landmarks of territory formation, understanding the São Francisco River through its temporalities, and the other more focused on the understanding of the multiple identities that are constructed from the perception, of living and of existence in a territory of life and work.
