However, the traditional roughness evaluation method using diamond probe surface scanning gives the highquality profilogram and the data on many parameters of surface microgeometry, while it still has a number of disadvantages, including high costs of profilometers, relatively time-consuming measurements, sophistication of maintenance, high sensitivity to various contaminants on the surface. The article presents description of elaborated methods and instruments for acoustic emission quality testers of friction surface areas.
