Summary:This article aims to articulate the main elements of the so-called Comprehensive Sociology of Max Weber with the research potential in the educational policies field. Discussing important issues in Weberian sociology, as the concept of State, the paper approaches the debate of Social Sciences and Political Science with Educational Policy´s objects of interest, with the intention of highlight that, for this field, the conceptual tools built by Weber may be relevant for the analysis of themes and problems that are beyond rigid explanatory schemes.
