The study was carried out in September 2009 with 18 diabetic people; the data were collected via semi-structured interviews and submitted to content analysis. The results showed that among daily measures taken to control the illness, control of food and the correct use of medicines are the most valued, and that the restrictive diet is the main difficulty met.
