Summary:This research is concerned with a particular issue of the sitting positions in prayer, namely the “iq’aa’” sitting (during saying the tashahhud- with left-foot showing a bit from under right leg,. It explains the common language meanings of the term and the technical juris prudential meaning put forward extensively by specialist scholars, highlighting differences amongst them in the early Muslim generations prior to the main four schools of thought. The research then examines related evidences and discussions, pointing out the most potential one as well as causes and some effects.
