Prompt recognition leads to determining plan of management and appropriate parent's counselling owing to benign nature of the condition. Being a rare condition there are only few case reports in English literature. We report a retrospective observation of cases of congenital epulis managed at Department of Pediatric Surgery from March 2019 to Dec 2020. We have studied clinical presentation, management and histopathology where excision has been done. A total of 6 cases have been managed during study period. 3 of them underwent excision and rest were managed expectantly. Histopathology of all excised lesions was congenital granular cell lesion. The expectantly managed patients showed complete resolution over 12 months. Congenital epulis can be observed for 1 year or till eruption of dentition if it is not affecting mouth closure. Large tumors affecting feeding or breathing are to be surgically excised without any serious complications.http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2213576621001755Congenital epulisGranular cell tumorNeonateCase series |
