Summary:This study aims to analyze the experiences of the city of Curitiba on teachers' continuous education since 1963. When Community Centers were installed in Curitiba, with a proposal of community education a work begun that, along the following decades, would develop gradually un ti/ their actual consolidation in mid-1980, with the revision of the administrative structure of the Municipality to therein insert the Pedagogical Training Division. Once defined a set of teacher education policies, a comprehensive work was made possible, with actions that were adequating the teacher education to the difftculties mentioned by them from their work with the education of the population. The research with bibliographic and documental nature, was carried out with support on the reflections of Neves (1988), Costa (2007) and Vieira (2010), being based on the documents avaílable in the Archive of the Municipal Department of Education. As a result, it was possible to delineate the trajectory of the teachers' continuous education for teachers of the Municipal School of Curitiba in their deplyment, consolidation and expansion movement.
