Summary:From a fieldwork experience which occurred in Havana, Cuba, during the summer of 2011, this article suggests overcoming « scientific » precautions usually expressed towards countries whose political systems differ significantly from ours. This is the occasion to discuss current issues in the community of sociologists regarding the imperativeness of methodological and ethical rules that they have implement. To formalize excessively these last ones, fieldwork research blocks itself from its asset and interest: a form of heuristic.
