Description
Summary:Geomorphological characteristics of the coastal longitudinal profile and the arrangement of the physiographical structure allowed the recognition of two zones: a) the intertidal zone -a basic scene for direct impact of sea level change; and b) an adjacent peritidal (supralittoral) fringe -an area of cushioning or of potential risk. An inventory of the vegetation and land use was performed in both scenes in order to reveal the composition and distribution of vulnerable areas to sea level rise. Vegetation and land use was identified through aerial photo interpretation and field work, the results were processed in a geographycal information system.
