Description
Summary:This article analyses the ideas disseminated by modern mathematics movement protagonists in são paulo, brazil, in the sixties. such ideas are taken as expressing beliefs and goals as well as tools in the search for support and adherence to the movement. the author examines, on the one side, assertions supported by participants with different practices and views concerning teaching and learning and, on the other side, variances that were disguised in their propagated speech. it is argued that such conjunction of agreements and disguised variances is relevant to the understanding of the intense spread of ideas and mobilization of teachers promoted by the movement.
