Pankiv0MD, PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of clinical immunology, allergology and endocrinology, Bukovinian State Medical University, Chernivtsi, UkraineA review of the literature is devoted to the problem of obesity and infection comorbidity. The increased tendency of patients with obesity towards respiratory, viral, postoperative and other infections is considered. One of the pathogenetic mechanisms for the development of infections in obese patients is the dysfunction of cellular and humoral immunity, induced by the production of various cytokines by adipose tissue, which have an immunomodulatory effect. Further studies are needed in the field of epidemiology, mechanisms for the development and course of infections in obese patients, and the development of tactics to assist this category of patients. The results of the positive effect of the domestic drug Styfimol on weight loss due to abdominal adipose tissue in individuals with overweight and obesity are presented.http://iej.zaslavsky.com.ua/article/view/185413obesityinfectionadipokinesstyfimolreview
