Summary:The purpose is to present an investigative approach called Converging Care Research (CCR) and itsapplication in Brazilian nursing settings. Tracking down the period between 2000 and 2006 has shown that this approach(CCR) was used as a methodological reference in research projects mostly in 5 university libraries, in 11 different journalsand 5 annals, entailing 89 publications. Among them, 53 were master’s dissertations, 6 doctorate theses, and 30 researchpapers published as articles. Such publications revealed that investigation focuses were on: work accidents, caresystematization, nursing consultations, education, work process, and violence, among others. Regarding the areas, thefollowing were covered: child-mother, education, psychiatry, collective health, and work safety. It was concluded that theCCR approach is becoming a socially acceptable investigation, with broad compliance to care delivery practices, andshowing signs of change in the Health Service nursing practices.
