Summary:The aim of this research was to determine the differences between the nutritional status of young basketball players of different ages. The sample included 379 boys, aged 9-14 years old, from different basketball clubs located in ten municipalities in Serbia. Nutritional status was assessed using body mass index (BMI) as a ratio of height and weight of respondents. The univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied for the analysis the differences between respondents in terms of nutritional status. These results clearly indicate that there is a statistically significant difference (p = 0.05) between the young basketball players in terms of their nutritional status. Through the results of this study may find the trend of increase in BMI with age.
