Summary:The article is about the influence of the “roman-feuilleton” on the novel “The Idiot” by F. M. Dostoyevsky. The article features a number of selected heroes (Nastasiya Filippovna and prince Myshkin) and situations which have analogues with the novel “Les mysteres de Paris” by Eugene Sue and the genre of “romanfeuilleton” (for example, repeated scandals, which are very important for the story, coincidences, parentlessness of the main heroes, love triangles, numerous dramatic scenes and storylines). Also, the author of the article analyzes the genesis of the feuilleton motifs and the varieties that were left by Dostoyevsky as plans and drafts only.
