Summary:Mass tourism and alternative tourism have some common points. Developing and institutionalizing CSR in the tourism industry in countries with vulnerable environment like Haiti is pertinent. And, the choice between mass tourism and alternative tourism becomes less difficult, since the two forms of tourism cannot be associated at the same layer of the economy. We argue that Haiti should head toward an alternative form of tourism because this form of tourism has much in common with CSR approach and its ethic.
