Summary:Law 1098 of 2006, in compliance with the international commitments acquired by the Colombian State, created the Adolescent Criminal Responsibility System, applicable to minors between 14 and 18 years of age who violate the criminal law. Since its creation and subsequent implementation, the problem of juvenile delinquency has become more visible as a recurrent phenomenon in Colombian society. The Economic Analysis of Law, provides the methodological tools to obtain a greater understanding and continuous improvement of the system; with its application, it was found that the system envisaged by the Colombian legislator, is shown to be efficient in dealing with juvenile delinquency in Colombia and has shown results consistent with its tasks.
