Summary: | The present investigation deals with an axisymmetric problem of thick circular plate in modified couple stress theory with mass diffusion. The Laplace and Hankel transforms technique have been used to investigate the problem. The displacements, stress components, temperature change, and chemical potential are obtained in the transformed domain subjected to thermal and chemical potential sources. Resulting quantities are obtained in the physical domain using a numerical inversion technique and depicted graphically. Comparisons are made with and without couple stress for both the Lord–Shulman (1967) and Green–Lindsay (1972) theories of thermoelasticity. Some particular cases of interest are also deduced. |
