Development of a mathematical model of cross-docking technology in railway warehouses

In this connection, there is a need to consider modern transport and storage technologies. The problem is that often there are idle vehicles due to inconsistency of the transport of arrival and departure, as well as their irrational use. The purpose of the whole work is to show the technical and economic feasibility for the railway development of cross-docking technology. This goal is considered in the work as something new for the warehouse system of railway transport, the main task of which many consider only direct overload. The research methods were based on the theory of optimization of economic ties and complete deliveries. The article suggests a mathematical model of cross-docking, which provides the most optimal variant for transshipment of goods to a railway warehouse and their subsequent delivery to end users. Also, based on the proposed mathematical model, a simulation model is built in the Microsoft Excel environment. This study shows that the use of cross-docking technology allows the warehouse system to improve the transformation of cargo traffic.http://ntv-brgu.ru/wp-content/arhiv/2018-N2/2018-02-13.pdfrailway transportrailway storagepacked-piece cargocross-dockingoverload
