Understanding the place and the environment translates into knowledge from the construction of each student by living the place. We aim to understand the learning of riverside children, from the articulation of Ecological Literacy with skills of land and terra firma ecosystems, highlighting the effects that generate on their perceptions and socioenvironmental representations of the place of life. To construct the theoretical framework on the values of Capra (1990; 2006), Morin (2005), Jacaúna (2012), Freire (2011), Gonzaga (2013), Merleau Ponty (1999). The article is qualitative and phenomenological, dialoguing with an action research. As data collection techniques, participants were observed, field diary and terrarium, within a Didactic Sequence. To analyze the data used in Phenomenological Analysis. The research subjects were 14 students from a municipal public school in Parintins. One research lasted 4 (four) months. However, it made use of only 10 students to write this article. The obtained data reveal that the subjects demonstrate to know, in a general way, the concepts of ecology, altering, therefore, indicators of Ecological Literacy. For now, complete this research step, but leave it open for further comments, corroborations, and rebuttals.https://periodicos.ufms.br/index.php/persdia/article/view/9454ecological literacy. soil teaching. science teaching. riverside students.
